Tibetan Democracy Day

Tibetan Democracy Day, celebrated every September 2, honors the founding of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, part of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), on September 2, 1960. In 2025, it will mark the 65th anniversary of this vital democratic institution, which represents the Tibetan diaspora and champions their pursuit of self-governance and cultural preservation. The event welcomes Tibetans, non-Tibetans, and supporters of the Tibetan cause to join in solidarity and celebrate together.
